Detailed Product Description:
A solid in the form of red/orange crystals. Soluble in water but
insoluble in alcohol. Non-combustible.
Sodium dichromate is usually handled as its dihydrate Na2Cr2O7·2H2O.
Its chemistry, appearance, and behavior are very similar to those of the
more commonly available potassium dichromate. This chemical is around
twenty times more soluble in water than the potassium salt (49 g/L at 0 °C)
and its equivalent weight is also lower, which is often desirable.
Commonly used in aluminum surface pre-treatments as an etchant
for adhesion promotion.
Grade/Purity:
This is ACS Reagent Grade with a minimum purity of 99%.
