Detailed Product Description:
This is a proprietary polyester resin-based bottom finish, originally
formulated to minimize friction on the bottom of air boats.
Its consistency is similar to the flow coat (clear gel coat) used
as a final finish on the inside of race boat hulls. But it includes
surface curing additives, gloss additives, and most importantly,
dry film lubricants that float to the surface during the cure cycle.
Background:
Unlike conventional boats where the challenge is to simply reduce
the frictional drag of water, air boats have the unique challenge of
needing to be able to glide smoothly over pond lilies and other
marine growth. Over the years, enthusiasts have experimented with
a number of bottom treatments to reduce the risk of dynamic
fouling and to improve their speeds over these growths.
Application Notes:
The surface to be painted should be abraded, washed, rinsed,
and then wiped down with acetone.
Frog Spit can be brushed on, rolled on, or sprayed on using a
standard HVLP gun with large orifice as used for gel coats.
Precautions:
Use with adequate ventilation. May be harmful if swallowed.
May cause skin irritation. Eye irritant. Download, read, and
understand precautions outlined in MSDS before using this material.
